Les Jeux Olympiques d'été 2016 attribuée à Rio de Janeiro
Les Jeux de la 31e Olympiade seront accueillis par Rio de Janeiro.
La ville hôte des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques d'été 2016 a été annoncée le 2 octobre 2009, lors de la 121e Session du Comité International Olympique (CIO), qui s'est tenue à Copenhague, la capitale danoise.
"Je tiens à féliciter chaleureusement Rio de Janeiro pour avoir été choisie comme ville hôte olympique pour 2016, a déclaré M. Lamine Diack, le Président de l'IAAF. Je pense qu'il est indispensable que l'olympisme démontre son attrait universel en organisant les Jeux en Amérique du Sud pour la première fois de son histoire.
"L'athlétisme va se dérouler dans l'enceinte d'un stade qui a déjà accueilli notre sport, à l'occasion des Jeux Panaméricains, et je ne doute pas un instant que nous allons assister à des Jeux superbes."
Une journée intense de présentations par les quatre villes candidates – Chicago (USA), Madrid (ESP), Rio de Janeiro (BRA) et Tokyo (JPN) – a été suivie par le rapport final de la Commission d'évaluation, présenté par sa présidente, Nawal El Moutawakel, par ailleurs Membre du Conseil de l'IAAF.
Summer Olympics 2016 awarded to Rio de Janeiro
The Games of the 31st Olympiad will be hosted by Rio de Janeiro.
The host city of the summer 2016 Olympics and Paralympics was announced on October 2nd, 2009, during the 121st Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which was held in Copenhagen, the Danish capital. “I am anxious to congratulate warmly Rio de Janeiro on having been chosen as host Olympic city for 2016, declared Mr. Lamine Diack, the President of the IAAF. I think that it is indispensable that the Olympic movement demonstrates its universal charm by organizing the Games in South America for the first time of its history. Athletics is going to take place in a stadium which has already welcomed our sport, on the occasion of the Pan-American Games, and I do not doubt one moment that we are going to assist to magnificent Games. "
A full day of presentations by four candidate cities - Chicago (USA), Madrid (ESP), Rio de Janeiro (BRA) and Tokyo (JPN) - was followed by the final report of the evaluation Commission, presented by its president, Nawal El Moutawakel, besides IAAF Council Member.. |

 La CAA élabore le Calendrier de compétitions 2010 / The CAA sets up the Competitions calendar 2010
La Confédération africaine d’athlétisme (CAA) a convié récemment à Dakar des experts qui ont pris part à l’élaboration du calendrier des compétitions de la saison 2010. Ainsi, ont participé à cette réunion, Lamine Faty (Secrétaire Général CAA), le Marocain Aziz Daouda (Technicien CAA), le Mauricien Vivian Gungaram (Technicien CAA), le Namibien Frankie Fredericks (Commission des athlètes CAA), Fatou Sissoko (Responsable Département Technique), Angèle Thiaw (Responsable Administratif et Financier CAA) et Aminata Gueye (Responsable Marketing et Communication CAA). A l’issue des travaux, le calendrier africain 2010 a été arrêté et il est disponible sur le site internet de la CAA. Les Championnats d’Afrique Senior 2010, initialement prévus du 28 Avril au 2 Mai, se dérouleront finalement du 28 Juillet au 01 Août à Nairobi, au Kenya. Ce sera le principal rendez-vous de la saison en Afrique.
En 2010, les meetings continentaux seront classés comme suit :
- IAAF World Challenge : Dakar et Rabat
- CAA Golden Events : Abuja, Brazzaville, Tanger
- CAA Silver Events: Khartoum, Maurice, Bamako, Alger
- CAA Bronze Events: Circuit région Sud (Namibie ou Botswana), Tunis, Ouagadougou.
On rappelle que pour cette saison 2010, l’IAAF a apporté des changements dans le calendrier international avec l’arrivée de la « Diamond League », en lieu et place de la « Golden league ». 14 villes d’Amérique, d’Asie, du Moyen-Orient et d’Europe vont organiser les meetings de la nouvelle compétition. L’Afrique sera encore la grande absente de cette prestigieuse compétition.
The CAA sets up the Competitions calendar 2010
The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) recently invited in Dakar some experts who took part in the setting up of the competitions calendar 2010. So, Lamine Faty (CAA General Secretary), the Mauritian Vivian Gungaram (Vice - President in Charge of Competitions) the Moroccan Aziz Daouda (CAA Technician), the Namibian Frank Fredericks (President of the CAA athletes’ Commission), Fatou Sissoko (Person in charge of Technical Department), Angèle Thiaw (Person in charge of Administrative affaires) and Aminata Gueye (Person in charge of CAA Marketing and Communication) participated in this meeting. At the conclusion of the works, the African calendar 2010 was stopped and it is available on the CAA website. The Senior Championships of Africa 2010, initially planned from April 28th till May 2nd, will finally take place from July 28th till August 01st in Nairobi, in Kenya. It will be the main gathering of the season in Africa.
In 2010, continental meetings shall be classified as follows:
- IAAF World Challenge : Dakar and Rabat

- CAA Silver Events: Khartoum, Maurice, Bamako, Alger

Pour la quatrième fois, l'Erythréen Zersenay Tadese a été sacré champion du monde de semi-marathon à Birmingham, avec un temps de 59’35’’. Chez les femmes, la victoire est revenue à la Kenyane Mary Jepkosgei Keitany, qui s'est imposée en 1h06'36".

Half-Marathon “World”Championships and 4 for Zersenay Tadese
For the fourth time, the Erythrean Zersenay Tadese was crowned world champion of half marathon in Birmingham, with a time of 59 ' 35 ". At the women, the victory returned to the Kenyan Mary Jepkosgei Keitany, who imposed herself in 1mn 06 ' 36 ".

 Meite, Lalou et Kaltouma doublent la mise / Meite, Lalou and Kaltouma achieved a doubled
Ben Youssef Meite (CIV, 100m et 200m), Amine Lalou (MAR, 1500m et 800m) et Nadjina Kaltouma (THA 400m et200m) ont frappé fort lors des 6E Jeux de la Francophonie qui se sont tenus à Beyrouth (Liban) en réalisant le doublé dans leurs disciplines. L’Ivoirien a signé 10’’15 et 20’’37 lors des finales du 100m et 200m. Le Marocain a remporté les finales du 800m (1:46.68) et du 1500m (3:51.59). La Tchadienne a triomphé au 200m (23.09) et au 400m (51.04)
A signer les grosses performances réalisées par le Marocain Yahya Berrabah (8m40) et le Sénégalais Ndiss Kaba Badji (8m32) au saut en longueur.
Games of the Francophony
Ben Youssef Meite (CIV, 100m and 200m), Amine Lalou (MAR, 1500m and 800m) and Nadjina Kaltouma (THA 400m and 200m) struck hardly during the 6th Games of the Francophony which were held in Beirut (Lebanon) by achieving the doubled in their disciplines. The native of Ivory Coast signed 10 " 15 and 20 " 37 during the 100m and 200m finals. The Moroccan took away the finals of the 800m 1mn 46.68 and the 1500m 3mn 51.59. The Chadian triumphed in the 200m (23.09) and in the 400m (51.04)
The big performances achieved by the Moroccan Yahya Berrabah (8m40 and the Senegalese Ndiss Kaba Badji (8m32 in the long jump are also to be noted.
La CAA signe un contrat avec SET
 La Confédération Africaine d’Athlétisme a signé un contrat d’exclusivité avec Sport Extra Time (SET) qui aura en charge la gestion du Marketing et des droits TV de la CAA.
Sport Extra Time est une société spécialisée dans la gestion des droits TV, Médias et Marketing et concentre ses actions sur trois zones géographiques : l'Afrique, l'Océan Indien et l'Océanie.
Grâce à ce nouveau partenariat, la CAA bénéficiera d’une expertise supplémentaire afin de continuer à promouvoir et à développer l’athlétisme africain.
CAA signs a contract with SET
The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) has signed an exclusive contract with Sport Extra Time (SET). SET will then be the responsible of the Marketing and CAA TV rights management as from today.
Sport Extra Time is a company which is specialized in the management of TV rights, Media and Marketing and the activities of which are concentrated in three geographical areas: Africa, Indian Ocean, and Oceania.
Thanks to this new partnership, CAA will benefit from an additional expertise in order to continue to promote and to develop African athletics.

Zersenay Tadese, un homme pour toutes les surfaces
Il a une fois rêvé d'aller au Tour de France de cyclisme, mais finit par un tour de course sur route. Zersenay Tadese a réussi aujourd'hui là où le grand Haile Gebrselassie a échoué et où cet autre Kenenisa Bekele, Éthiopien légendaire, doit encore passer.
La victoire de Tadese au Championnats du Monde de Semi-Marathon de l’IAAF a bouclé une merveilleuse année pour Tadese. Trois médailles de Championnat du monde en un an sur trois surfaces différentes sont un exploit réalisé précédemment par seulement un athlète, Paul Tergat du Kenya en 1999.
Gebrselassie, champion du Monde de Semi-Marathon en 2001 et quatre fois champion du Monde de 10.000m sur piste, a renoncé à essayer le cross country après quatre tentatives à une médaille individuelle échouées. Bekele, le gagnant de 11 titres aux Mondiaux seniors de cross country et quatre titres au 10.000m, doit encore faire son début au semi-marathon et se tester dans un championnat mondial de course sur route.
Avant aujourd'hui, Tadese était 3è aux Championnats Mondiaux de Cross country en 2009 à Amman en Jordanie et 2è aux 10.000m aux Championnats du Monde d'Athlétisme 2009, à Berlin. Sa victoire fugitive de ce matin, en 59:35, lui a donné son quatrième titre consécutif de coureur mondial sur route et il n’entend pas s'arrêter là.
Zersenay Tadese, a man for all surfaces
He once dreamt of riding the Tour de France but ended up a road running tour de force. Zersenay Tadese succeeded today where the great Haile Gebrselassie failed and where that other legendary Ethiopian, Kenenisa Bekele, has yet to tread.
Tadese’s victory in the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships completed a marvellous year for Tadese. Three World Championship medals in one year on three different surfaces is a feat performed previously by only one athlete, Kenya’s Paul Tergat in 1999.
Gebrselassie, World Half Marathon champion in 2001 and four-time World 10,000m champion on the track, gave up trying in cross country after four failed attempts at an individual medal. Bekele, winner of 11 senior World Cross Country titles and four at 10,000m, has yet to make his debut at the half marathon distance and test himself in a world road running championship.
Prior to today, Tadese had finished third in the 2009 World Cross Country Championships, in Amman, Jordan, and runner-up over 10,000m at the 2009 World Athletics Championships, in Berlin. His runaway win this morning, in 59:35, gave him his fourth successive world road running title and he does not intend to stop there.
